10/30/2017 – Speaker Series – October 2017
Engaging the Next Generation in Philanthropy
Self-made families often have concerns that the next generation (and beyond) will not continue forward with the same life priorities. A meaningful way to establish and carry forward the family’s mission, vision and values can be through philanthropy. Bring a guest/client/donor with you for a panel discussion on Engaging the Next Generation in Philanthropy.
Among our featured panelists will be Alexis Marion of the Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation. In addition to being a trustee, Alexis is the Program Officer and Junior Board Advisor at the Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation in Studio City. She oversees the grant-making at the Foundation, and is privileged to guide the Junior Board Members, ages 8-21, in making grants every year totaling more than $80,000. As a former LA County foster youth, Alexis is a staunch advocate for transition-age and underserved youth. She teaches free SAT preparation classes for foster youth and provides organizational support for nonprofits serving foster youth. Alexis holds an M.A. in Nonprofit Management at Antioch University, Los Angeles.
